The 2008 Preseason Challenge

The NFL 2008 Preseason Challenge will begin Sunday, August 3rd with bloggage (bloggage?) of the Hall of Fame Game between the Colts (Jim Sorgi, woo-hoo!) and Redskins.

The object of the Preseason Challenge is to try to watch all 65 NFL preseason games. Thanks to the NFL Network, every preseason game has been available on TV since 2004.

Against my better judgment, I try to blog every game as well, something I attempted for the first time last season.
Very few of the games will be blogged while they're on the air - I have a life, you know, or something resembling one. I'll be doing plenty of TiVo and DVD-based time-shifting. And I don't include Rams games here, since I'll deal with them thoroughly on ramview.com.

I have found the best way to complete the Preseason Challenge is to not be employed at the time, which was the case my only successful year. But I will strive with all my might to accomplish this great feat of couch potatodom a second time.

Or at least to get farther than last year. The Preseason Challenge will officially close on September 6, and yes, I know the regular season will have already started by then.

The history of the Preseason Challenge:
2004 - successful
2005 - died the first week due to satellite equipment failure
2006 - completed the first three weeks
2007 - only completed the first two weeks

Viva preseason!
