Game 4: Rams 23, Jets 20

RamView recap of game

Well, that was certainly a far cry from last year's first preseason game, and damn sure better than the Rams' last trip to play the Jets in the Meadowlands.

MVP: I'll go with Samkon Gado, seen here blowing open a 77-yard TD run for the Rams' first TD. Between that and some less-than-impressive play by Kenneth Darby, Gado's making a strong run at Rams' RB2. Honorable mention to Mark Sanchez, who stepped right in and led the Jets on a 93-yard TD drive in his first foray onto an NFL field.

What did we learn: The Rams' RBs cannot pick up a blitz to save their lives. The Ram secondary also had more breakdowns than they can be comfortable with. Their run defense looks to have improved significantly, though, thanks to big bodies in the middle like Hollis Thomas and Antwon (Who?) Burton. Sanchez looks like the real deal for the Jets. Kellen Clemens didn't look awful but continues to be turnover-prone.

Up next: Atlanta at Detroit, kicking off a live Saturday tripleheader on NFL Network. Viva football!
